BRAIN AND SPINAL CORD INJURY
(Sierra Vista Regional Medical Center, Room: Auditorium)

This lecture provides an in-depth look at how these secondary brain injuries develop, how the body attempts to adapt and what we can do to stop further injury. Understand all the critical components that are essential in managing an acute spinal cord injury and future therapies that provide hope on the horizon that can potentially mitigate or possibly reverse the damage inflicted by brain and spinal cord trauma.

This lecture is being provided by Suz Roehl, RN - Critical Care Flight Nurse with CALIFORNIA Shock Trauma Air Rescue (CALSTAR). Suz has 26 years of critical care and emergency nursing in a diverse background of Pediatric ICU, Burn ICU, CV ICU, Level 1 Trauma ED, Flight Nursing, and Clinical Nursing Educator for ICU and ED.

This lecture is appropriate for nurses, paramedics and first responders, and will provide 2 hours of continuing education credit.
