CALSTAR transports patients to more than 170 medical facilities located throughout California and Northern Nevada. Member Hospitals provide ongoing operational and fiduciary support by serving on CALSTAR’s Board of Directors. Responsibilities include the governance and oversight of policy, fundraising, human resources, budgeting, program planning and development. Affiliate Hospitals provide in-kind support to CALSTAR through clinical training in specialized treatments and procedures, and/or the use of their facilities and equipment.

The recently rebuilt John Muir Medical Center campus in Walnut Creek features a 35-bed Neonatal ICU, the only Level III neonatal intensive care unit in the county.
